If you decide to go fly fishing, one of the most important decisions that you will make is choosing the right rod and free fishing lures. After all, if you don't have a great rod, you are going to have trouble catching the fish that you want. There are a variety of things that you should be considering when you need a new rod, so here are a few great tips that can help you pick out the types of fishing rods for your needs.

The first thing that you should think about when trying to choose the rod is the flexibility of the rod. This is very important when it comes to fly fishing. Some rods are slow while some are fast, and it is a good idea to understand how this all works when you are going to purchase a new rod. Usually amateurs who are just getting started will want to go with rods that are medium action. Then they can go on to a more sophisticated rod in the future, once they get adjusted to the rod that they have. Of course every person is going to have a different preference, due to the way that they cast.

You should also think about what type of fish you are going for when you are trying to pick out your rod and free fishing lures. This will help you to choose the right rod for your needs. You will need to consider the weight of the fish that you are fishing for.

Then you will want to choose the rod that will be able to handle the larger fish. Most common fish are easy to catch with light to medium rods, but if you are going for some of the larger game fish, you may need to go with a heavier rod that will deal with the weight.

Most people will want to keep the cost in mind when they are choosing their fly fishing rods and homemade lures. While you definitely want to make sure you get a high quality rod, consider your budget. You probably don't want to spend a huge amount of money on the rod. Figure out what you can spend, and then work to get the highest quality rod for the money you are able to spend.

Speaking of quality, it is so important that you go with a quality rod. While you don't always have to have the best rod with the most features, you will want a rod that is made of high quality materials and that will perform efficiently for you. If you do a lot of fishing, then spending a bit more for a high quality rod is a great idea.

These are just a few things that you should keep in mind when you are purchasing a good fly fishing rod. With these top tips, you'll be able to make a wise choice when choosing the types of fishing rods you need. Then you will be able to go out and enjoy fishing, and you'll always be sure to get a great catch with your nice, new rod.

It's only natural for parents to want their kids to sleep well at night on a camping trip. Your kid's warmth and comfort is your responsibility if you are the parent.

However, kids have different requirements to adults when it comes to sleeping bags. The design of sleeping bags for kids are a lot more simpler.

They’re made of cheaper materials than full-size sleeping bags. Synthetics materials are more commonly used rather than down. When people do buy kids sleeping bags made of high quality materials they make sure that it will at least last a few years before the kids outgrow them.

Price is not the determining factor why down is less preferred than synthetics. Less care is needed when using synthetic sleeping bags and when wet they're easy to dry. It's a much better material especially if your kids still wear nappies. The Montbell UL Alpine Down Hugger 3 if a good option if you prefer your kids to use down sleeping bags.

Weight is an important consideration if your kids are going backpacking as well because either you or them are going to carry it. However, since kids sleeping bags are small, the difference may not be very big.

It's inevitable that lower quality kids sleeping bags are more popular. The kids may not really need down insulation anyway because most kids sleep warmer than adults. Physics would tell us that the kids lose more heat because of their small bodies but they compensate by having a higher metabolic rate.

The hood, draft tube and draft collar in the sleeping bags help to keep your kids stay warm at night. The hood is critical in really cold weather because you lose a lot of heat through your head.

The North Face Tigger is a popular choice of its safety features. There are no cords to get tangled in and no way of adjusting the hood or chest section so that it closes off completely.

Heat can escape through the zipper coils but a draft tube (an insulation-filled tube that runs alongside the main zipper) prevents this from happening. Draft collars are insulated tubes positioned just above the shoulders to prevent the body heat from radiating up and out of the sleeping bag.

Deuter, Integral Designs, Big Agnes, Lafuma, Slumberjack and Tough Traveller all make sleeping bags that cater for kids.

There's a huge range of kids sleeping bags that can be found in the market from cheap baby-fat types to ones that have everything including shaped hoods, pad loops, draft tubes and more. The materials used, features and design can skyrocket the cost of kids sleeping bags.

If you think there's a lot of effort involve in planning and preparing for a camping trip with your kids, you're right. Yes, camping with kids seems a little more tiring and stressful than the usual camping trips when it was just you and your spouse.

You will likely have to make some sacrifices if you're going to take your kids camping. For kids, camping can be an experience of a lifetime so it's well worth the small sacrifice.

Hiking, playing and exploring the great outdoors is simply rewarding as spend quality time with them. You won't mind the extra effort especially if you love your kids so much.

Here are some tips you can start out for a smooth camping trip:

- Get the kids involved with the planning and preparation. Ask for their suggestions and ideas regarding camping activities and places to visit. Getting them involved in planning and preparation is good for their mental development.

All these things would make them see that you value their opinions and that you treat them as mature responsible adults. They are likely to act so because they would want to prove to you that they are.

- You don't need a high quality sleeping bag for the kids. A cheap kids sleeping bag is sufficient.

- Try backyard camping if it’s your kids’ first camping trip so they know what to expect and they won’t get homesick.

- Teach your kids to pitch their own tents and other simple and safe tasks so that they can help out.

- Set up some safety rules like not to wander too far away from camp to prevent unwanted incidents.

- Do some campfire singing and story-telling.

- Showing the kids the wonders of nature by taking them on hikes will teach them to respect the natural beauty.

- Don’t forget to teach them how to keep themselves safe at the camp. No playing with fire and no swimming in the lake alone are just some of the many rules they have to be familiar about.

- To get the kids to be interested in chores, create games out of them

- Take your kids birdwatching and carry some binoculars so that your kids are interested.

- Apply insect repellent and sunscreen on your kids.

- To help your kids deal with anxiety at night, give them a flashlight or glow stick.

- This is perfect for you and the kids to do some star gazing.

- Don’t forget to bring the very important first aid kit for small accidents or mishaps.

- Have some night snacks. Not inside the tent of course. Before you go to sleep, a few chats and chips will surely be a great finale to a great day.

- Take some camping games for the kids.

- Don't forget to pack extra batteries for the camera and lights.

Family camping trips are a fun way to spend quality time with your children. Although it takes double the effort, just seeing the delight on their faces or hearing their squeals of laughter all make the trip worthwhile.

by Dave Fischer

When you're fly fishing you probably will land your fish the majority of time with your rod and reel. But you may want to use a fly fishing net if you're using a light leader with a tiny fly.

To find the best fly fishing net, you may want to consider the following tips:

Handle For The Fly Fishing Net

The first thing you need to understand about fly fishing net handles is the length of the handle. Choose a short handle for convenience of travel yet it's easy to move around. Some anglers will only use one with a telescoping handle. To my mind the telescoping handle can be used for either wading or if you're sitting in a boat.

If you're fly fishing from your boat you'll want a fly fishing net with a longer handle. Thats because you're going to have to lean over to reach the water to reach your catch. Remember you don't want to join your catch in the water!

Your Fly Fishing Net Frame

Now remember you fly fishing net is going to hang from your vest, so you want a lightweight frame. At least I prefer a lightweight one of either aluminum or fiberglass. But there are some traditionalists who prefer wood. If you''re opting for a wood frame choose high quality. It makes a long difference in the long run .

Fly Fishing Net Bags

Fly fishing bags are made of many different materials. Cotton and nylon are preferred by those who don't want to disturb the mucous layer of the fish. Cotton won't last as long as a nylon bag. For those who don't mind the excess weight, the rubber bags also work well.

Carrying Your Fly Fishing Net

Keeping your hands free and the fly fishing net easily available are two of the things you need to consider before buying a fly fishing net. That's why so many anglers like magnetic clips. They release easily and keep your fly fishing net out of the way till you're ready to use it. Other clips available are spring loaded cables and Velcro straps. All of these eliminate fumbling and reaching. If you're going to be doing fly fishing from both a boat and wading, then seriously consider a telescoping handle fly fishing net. It'll give you both options in one net.

Fishing trips may be taking a back seat to fine restaurants and pulsing nightlife, but Miami fishing charter boat captains are still enjoying steady business. With the Gulf Stream so close, anglers can enjoy a fishing expedition catching grouper, tuna, dolphins, kingfish and more.

So, if you're planning a Miami deep-sea fishing experience, try checking out the area's top four marinas - the Crandon Park Marina, Haulover Beach Marina, Miami Beach Marina and the Bayside Marketplace. Each offers something a little different and a wide range of captains and ships to choose from.

Miami Crandon Park Marina

The Crandon Park Marina is home to some of the best charter boat captains and fishing guides in the area. The marina has an international reputation for Miami fishing charter boat companies that offer high quality service and guaranteed catches. It's located at 4000 Crandon Blvd, and charters typically cost around $700 for a full day or $500 for a half day.

Haulover Beach Park

Head down Collins Avenue in Miami Beach and you'll find the Haulover Beach Park Marina just steps away from the infamous Haulover Beach nudist beach section. Perhaps its the area's proximity to the Gulf Stream, but the Haulover Marina is home to the largest drift and charter fleet in South Florida.

Purpose of Fishing Rod Holders

Fishing is a sport designed for relaxation. It is where fish lovers pride themselves of the fish caught while celebrating it with friends and family.
The rod holder is a fishing tool that allows fishermen to multi-task easily. It was invented because fishing requires the use of both hands in the whole process of luring, hook clearing and removing the fish from the hooks. With all these tasks, letting go of the pole is difficult. The fishing rod holder was intended for anglers to be able to make use of both hands.

The first design of fishing rod holders had two parts. The first is a pole-binding device with a strap placed on the railing to tie up to the fishing pole. The second part is a Velcro strap that could be tied on your limb, arms or waist. The first designs needed improvement because when the straps were placed on the waist, it is wedged into anything you hit. Therefore, a new design of rod holder was invented which has four parts ? two pole clips and two straps.

Depending on what fishing position you are in, the short strap is used to be wrapped around your wrist or forearm and the long strap is wrapped around your ankle or leg. There are also rod holders which come with a remedial solution for seasickness. This curative fishing rod is capable of providing the user with an acupressure stimulator. Providing that the strap of the holder be worn all throughout the trip, it would remain efficient since the pressure is exerted continuously.

The rod holder is best for fly-fishing. Fly fishing is done in locations with rocky rivers and it is impossible to use your other hand for any purpose other than the fishing tasks. Because of the clips wrapped around your lower leg, you have a choice of putting the rear of the fishing pole into the clip so that no water could go inside it. The upper pole clips could rotate to 360 degrees. It allows the user to do any movement since the pole is more flexible. The fishing rod holder could be used in any location whether in boats, on land, or at the dock. It prevents the fishing rod to slip from your hands and it allows you to release the rod easily. The best fishing rod holders are those done homemade. However, many fishing stores offer high quality rod holders that would best suit your kind of fishing.
