As a means of survival men have hunted for thousands of years. It is a primal instinct that has been carried on through centuries because of the necessities for food, clothing, and basic shelter. The skill of a hunter determined if he and his family stayed alive.Click through here for more information on steiner binoculars.

Now a days hunting has to do more for the enjoyment and recreation then the need to survival. Hunters now a days find hunting stress relieving and relaxing. By being outside hunting it is a great way to keep your body healthy.

Over the years there have been many methods and different weapons used to make hunting easier. We no longer rely on lances or spears, or run animals off of the sides of high cliffs. The bow and arrow are still commonly used but has been greatly improved since the days of handmade rock tips. Now it is weapon of pulleys, perfected
sights, and strong carbon fibre.

From the time gunpowder was invented, it has been easier to obtain any pray. The near extinction of many of the world's animals is the price we've paid. To ensure healthy populations we now have to follow regulations set by the federal departments. Trapping and snaring animals is another method used in hunting usually for small game animals such as rabbits, lynx, bearskins, and martins. It is frightening to think what could have happened to the animal populations if some of the more modern equipment we take for granted such as binoculars - let alone guns - had been made available before the people began to gain an ecological 'conscience'You can obtain more information on digital binocular here.

The hunting of large game animals includes moose, deer, elk, caribou, and bears. These animals have regulated hunting seasons. Good practices for hunting is to make sure somebody knows where you are, dress for the elements, and hunt in a safe manner. As a responsible hunter don't shoot unless you know what you are shooting at. Hunting accidents occur frequently so be safe and avoid a hunting tragedy.

I love deer. My wife and I enjoy seeing dozens of them running across the Indiana cornfields. But I hate the damage they cause to my beautiful tulips, daylily, arborvitae and other expensive landscape plants.

Here are a few ways to live with the deer, and also keep your landscape intact.

I’ve heard professionals in the deer repellent business refer to this as "deer browsing." I think that's a cute term, and deer themselves are even cuter, but truthfully, deer damage is devastating to my expensive perennials, trees and shrubs.

How to Protect Plants From Deer

It is nearly impossible to completely eliminate deer damage in your landscape, especially if their populations are high, but you can reduce it to the point where it is not noticed. The first step is to keep your plants properly watered and fertilized so that any quick bites at the "salad bar" will be able to grow out quickly.

deer resistant plants

The quickest and easiest way to reduce deer damage is to install deer resistant plants. Of course, most of you reading this are rolling your eyes because you already have an established landscape and starting over is not in the cards. I agree with you!
On top of that, I happen to have a passion for tulips and I am not going to let a few deer ruin my spring show.

However, if you do want to use plants that are deer resistant, check out the label on the pot before you buy. But keep in mind, deer will eat just about anything if they are hungry enough; especially in winter.

Another idea is to surround the deer's favorite plants with other ones that they don't like so much. For example, deer love tulips, but very rarely eat daffodils. So you plant a few tulips within a large ring of daffodils. While this may seem logical, but trust me, it does not always work. Deer are pretty smart and will trample those daffodils on the way to the treat of tulips!

Deer Prevention using Scents and Deer Repellent

The two types of deer repellents are ‘contact' repellents and ‘area' repellents.

Contact repellents are applied directly to plants, causing them to taste bad. Area repellents are placed in a problem area and repel by their foul odor. A great area repellant is my favorite organic fertilizer, Milorganite. It's also good for the plants and does work fairly well to repel deer. Spread piles of Milorganite around your plants in varied places.

Apply contact repellents on a dry day with temperatures above freezing. Treat small trees completely. Older, larger trees may be treated only on their new growth as it is most tender. Treat to a height 6 feet above the maximum expected snow depth. Deer browse from the top down. Hang or apply repellents at the bud or new growth level of the plants you wish to protect.

Home Remedy Deer Repellent

A spray of 20 percent whole eggs and 80 percent water is one of the most effective repellents. The egg mixture is weather resistant but must be reapplied in about 30 days. Keep in mind that the egg repellant will rot in the sun, causing a foul smell not only to the deer’s nose, but to yours too!

Other home-remedy deer repellents are not too effective, but they are worth mentioning anyway just for fun. These include small, fine-mesh bags of human hair (about two handfuls) and bar soap hung from branches of trees. Replace both soap and hair bags monthly. You should use soaps with a sharper smell.
Scents that work in one area or for one person may not work at all in an area more highly frequented by deer for be prepared to try several of these methods.

deer netting

Of course, you could put up fences everywhere and that will pretty much stop the deer, but they can jump pretty high. In addition, fencing blocks the view of my tulips and that defeats the purpose.

There are also nets sold that you can drape over and around your plants. These nets serve to confuse the deer by making the plants look different. The problem here is that nets don’t look good draped everywhere and the deer are smart enough to figure it out eventually anyway.

Sometimes, a simple white rope tied to stakes in front of a row of arborvitae will serve to keep the deer away for a couple days. You can further confuse the deer by changing the height of the rope from week-to-week.

The key is to constantly switch things around. Try several of the above methods in different areas at different times of the year. By constantly making things appear different, you will always keep the deer confused. Keeping them confused means they just decide to go eat at your neighbor’s house, and not yours!

During my research also, I have found that a little knowledge about gadgets that use global positioning system is also important especially when you are the jungle.

Have you ever wondered what exactly is up with Hunting? This informative report can give you an insight into everything you've ever wanted to know about Duck Calling .

When Duck Calling season approaches each year, many eager bow or gun shooters make ready to hit the wilds and bag their pretty. But what many fail to take into account is the need to protect themselves from the wilds of fierce weather, especially when Duck Calling during the late fall or winter seasons. If you or someone you care about plans to go Duck Calling during those bitterly cold times of year, here are a few tips to keep in mind.

1. Get plenty of sleep beforehand. Since hunters sometimes take to the woods at any hour of the day or night, and because they must keep still in their stands while waiting for prey to approach, it is natural to become sleepy at times.

But falling asleep can be dangerous due to the risk of hypothermia or falling out of a tree, if that is your perch. Get at least six to eight hours the day before your hunting expedition. Avoid taking medications that can make you drowsy, unless you really need them.

How can you put a limit on learning more? The next section may contain that one little bit of wisdom that changes everything.

2. Eat a healthy meal before you go. Someone who is hungry or dehydrated can more quickly become cold, lacking fuel to warm their bodies adequately. It helps to feed on protein and complex carbohydrates.

Even certain types of fat can be good as far as helping to insulate your body. Drink eight ounces of fluid every couple of hours unless you are expending lots of energy in chasing your prey, in which case you will need to drink more often.

Deer Hunting

Deer hunting, much like any other category of hunting is practiced not so much out of necessity, but much more often to experience the thrill of the hunt and to participate in the hunting for sporting purposes. Some pursue trophy animals to put through the process of taxidermy to be able to display or hang on their walls, others seem to justify their right to hunt deer through an explanation to define the experience of it on individual terms, and use of the experience of hunting to understand themselves better as people. Most would argue that hunting is merely for the thrill of the adventure, but not many hunters might agree with that.

Deer and elk, as well as moose and caribou, fall into the category of hunting that is considered big game hunting by those with some skill and experience. They also seem to fall into categories with bears and the larger varieties of sheep, and though fairly common in some regions, hunters are required to buy tags as well as licenses to hunt and to be able to kill a certain number of the animals. Usually there are certain limits to which the hunter must abide by, or be penalized under penalty of law, which can leave some hunters frustrated with not being to kill more than just a few.

There are many hunters who choose to go this route and merely hunt smaller animals that are less regulated by law, animals such as foxes and rodents are covered in this area, and there are many hunters who choose this either out of respect for larger game or do so merely for recreational purposes. This is why many state governmental associations that regulate hunting of all varieties decide that killing these animals are a form of pest control, though not the most efficient way to take care of said pests, but most of the hunters of this variety choose to make this their sporting hunt of choice.

Deer is still a very well hunted species, and does not usually go much to waste, as choice cuts become venison for those who prefer the taste deer meat. It is those hunters who choose to hunt for thrills that may have the preference to bring their whole family along to participate in the hunt, the thrill of hunting a deer, and the amount of time spent preparing to find and stalk a worthwhile-sized buck perhaps. With any type of hunting that you go for you must be prepared for the speed of the chase, or when stalking from afar, to be prepared for the lack of prey when staying stationary.
