Ground Blind
Cabin crew insisting window blinds are lowered on daytime flights: Anyone managed to stand their ground?
Cabin crew have become more and more obsessed with trying to put economy passengers to sleep.
Previously, this only ever happened on night-time flights (where passengers are genuinely trying to sleep) or very long west-bound daytime flights (where passengers may want a nap to break up a very long day).
However, on a recent east-bound daytime flight (where the day is crunched up to less than 24 hours), the cabin crew made everyone put the blinds down. I now think its a way for cabin crew to have an easy life (since sleeping passengers don't require food or drink) and it saves money for the airline since they don't need to stock up as much food or drink.
Has anyone on here managed to stand their ground and keep their blind open? If so, then what did you do to get rid of them?
If it is light outside you are perfectly entitled to keep your blind open if you want to.
At night it is a different story as you have to take in to account that people may want to sleep.
Maybe the Crew are lazy but the airline is not trying to save money as everything is paid for annually on a set basis.
I am Cabin Crew and I would assess the situation. I used to work for the Airline that people assume the staff are lazy and this is the reason I left (UK flag carrier). I now work for the competition and I work my arse off.
If you want your blind open in the day, tell them!!
