Inside Pant Holster
Question on gun holsters?

Im work as a bail bondsman and have a concealed weopons permit. Im probably going to use an inside-pants holster, the gun is a 1911 springfield. Is this the best kind of holster if you might be worried the person you are arresting might try and take it from you? I would like to be able to draw it if I need it (hopefully that wont happen), but would hate to have to wrestle the guy to get my gun back.

ITP holsters are fine for smaller-frame guns (IMHO). For a full-size 1911 I'd go with a belt-slide/clip/pancake holster with at least two levels of retention.

BlackHawk CQC SERPA Holster is a nice one.

Fobus makes a holster with a thumb-break.

If you are looking to carry a pistol, and conceal it, you may have made the wrong choice in gun (unless you are big, big, big).

A 1911 can be hidden in the small-of-back area rather well but then it is a pain to get to quickly (hard for them to get also, unless the've grabbed ahold of you!).

I'd go with a smaller gun in an ITP or the 1911 on the belt.

Either way, like posted above, vigilance is key!
