You can use warm dishwasher soap and soak the filter for a half an hour to an hour or so. Rinse it out real well with LITTLE pressure. Don't use compressed air to blow the unit dry. Let the filter sit in the sun if possible.
Use the K&N oil when the filter has dried. Don't go crazy with the oil. Many folks over spray the red oil thinking they are helping the engine when in fact, they eventually damage the sensors on fuel injection models.
