  9. I live in the Pacific NW also, and the Olympic and Cascade mountains have exactly that sort of alpine lake, not to mention the lowland lakes that we have. And the squirrel trap is usable just about anywhere.

  14. Hate how they say.. “Extream survival” “Surviving in the jungle with nothing”… Then he pulls out a pan a knife some in ingredient and some oil… lol wtf

As sort of a survival finatic, I realy like the log-deadfall better than the rock-deadfall. Alao the hobo fishing really works. Take that Bear Grills!

  18. Yeah :) here in sweden we got one of the best hiking/camping natures to! Both on the winter and the summer :) I like the nature in sweden but i hate the politic O.O

  19. Les stroud is my hero! this is my first fim with ray mears…so far so good. only thing is im trying to figure out how i could adapt them for my area (pacific NW)

There is a simple rule about edible fungi here in Sweden. All the poisonus mushrooms here are found among the ‘gilled’ mushrooms. All the other groups of fungi are edible. However just because they are edible does not necessarily mean they taste well xD but nevertheless they are edible.

Ray isnt allowed to show any kills that look even remotely cute and cuddly because the animal rights people stick their nose in and cry cruelty to animals.

Anyone remember the uproar of that chef who caught and killed a rat and cooked it up when he was doing a survival thing on telly not so long ago?

  23. @chickenassasintk

    So???

  24. chickenassasintk on March 30th, 2010 at 7:17 am

Bear Grylls is nothing more than a show host. He doesnt actually stay in the environment he films in, he has a trailer. Les Stroud, Ray mears are better.
