Holster Any Gun

Is the gun/holster referring to a guy or girl in "Gun to my holster" phrase?

I know that it could go either way, but which way would it make more sense?

If I was the gun to my girlfriend's holster? Or if she was the gun to my holster?

I know I'm overthinking something really stupid and that this is a stupid question, but I just want to know what you guys think. Would there be any meaning behind it if I was the holster? Could that mean I'm always holding onto her and protecting her or some BS like that?

who ever says it is the holster if ur gf says it that means she wears the pants in the relationship u r suppose to be the holster bcuz guys protect girls that is just how it is
