Survival Knife Kit
We finished our homework assignment and then were curious as to what other people would say.?

If you were stranded in the wilderness and could only have 7 items with you in your survival kit, what would they be?All items must fit in a box the size of a shoe box and no electonics.We chose hunting knife, mirror,lighter,small blanket, fishing line and Bible.We tried to think of items that would have multiple uses. What 7 items would you have?
A mirror will transport light (a signal) clearer and farther than a fire or other source of light. And if stranded for several days, the Bible would be of great strength and comfort.Fishing line has as many uses as duct tape. A gun has to have bullets and that counts as one of the 7 items.

A mirror or a bible won't help you any if you are stranded out in the wilderness. Don't make silly sentimental mistakes that could cost you your life or someone else's when the space that mirror and bible took up in your kit could be replaced with something like a flare and a small first aid kit.

A small blanket won't keep you dry if it rains and you can't find any shelter. Replace that blanket with a plastic tarp that you can turn into a makeshift tent. With a fire you would have both warmth and shelter.

I have done survival training and I have seen some people bring a bible with them. I have always told them to leave it at home. It won't feed you, keep you warm (unless you plan on using it for the fire), keep you safe or give you shelter. So think rationally!
