Are Sig P229's too big for conceal and carry?
I'm about 5'10" and 180 lbs. and wondering if this pistol will be too uncomfortable for concealment. I looked at the smaller P239, but for some reason, didn't like the way it felt. I love the P229 but my concealment requires a tucked in shirt and I want to use a hidden side holster like the Galco Ultimate Conceal and Carry (I won't wear an ankle holster). Please, no opinions on what brand of pistols I should be using, just P229 experienced answers.
That is up to you...Whatever handgun fits and feels best for you. I would say a 1911 is too big but many people carry them all the time concealed. I like my Ruger SR9 with an inside the waistband holster. It is very slim and still a full size handgun.
If you feel you cannot conceal it be it a 229 or a sub-compact Springfield Armory XD. It has to remain concealed. There are so many handguns out there to choose from.
Sig, Springfield Armory, Beretta, Taurus, Ruger, Walther, Kahr, ParaUSA, and the list could go on.
